Bob Wynn (13), Ron Ford (12) and John Dunston (11) led the way. Ernest
Sonny Jackson (14) was the lone Speedboy in double figures.
SEMIFINALS
Doubleheader at the Palestra
Overbrook 44, Lincoln 22
Richie Richman (12) and Walt Hazzard (10) led the way as Brook
overcame Lincolns slowdown tactics. Ralph Heyward blocked eight shots. Rich Krassen
(seven) led Lincoln.
Germantown 49, Edison 45
Making its first postseason appearance in 43 years of PL membership,
Germantown received 17 points from Obie Snyder and 13 from Earl Proctor and, with the
score tied, 34-34, ran off seven consecutive points to seize command. Ron Ford (14) led
Edison.

Overbrook 52, Germantown 44
Six-eight Wayne Hightower shot 10-for-16 and 8-for-13 for 28 points and grabbed
13 rebounds. Wali Jones added 10 points. Heavy foul trouble helped limit Walt Hazzard to
two points. 'Brook hit seven consecutive shots in the third quarter, but stubborn G-town
remained in contention thanks mostly to Earl Proctor (15) and Obie Snyder (13). Proctor
added 15 rebounds.

After freezing the ball for the last 2:00, North prevailed when Ed Rotz (12
points) hit two free throws with 0:02 left. Jim McMonagle (13) and Al Solecki (10) paced
La Salle.
Semifinals
Doubleheader at the Palestra
Judge 68, St. James 66 (2 ot)
Bill Penny scored 21 points and made three huge baskets one to end
regulation, another to end the first OT and another to end the second OT, a sudden-death
session. John Andreoli added 18 points. Tom Wynne (20) led the losers.
Neumann 59, North 49
Five-nine Jim Gannon and 5-6 Bill Mulvihill scored 15 points apiece and Neumann
shot 19-for-24 at the line. Ron Ebert (17) and Bob Liddy (14) topped North.

Neumann 67, Judge 59
Five-six Bill Mulvihill, the smallest starter in the league, shot 8-for-13 and
10-for-12 for 26 points while adding five rebounds, seven steals and even six rebounds.
Jim Gannon scored 10 of his 23 points in the first quarter. He shot 11-for-16. Judge's 6-2
Dan McKendry had 20 points and 20 rebounds. John Andreoli added 14 points.

Don Shaffer scored 14 of his 20 points in a 17-11 fourth quarter as host
Haverford School trimmed Malvern, 51-50, in the finale to create the tie. Shaffers
two free throws provided the lead for good, 46-45. Jerry Aldrich added 14 points. Bob
Kelly led Malvern with 19 points. The Friars had hammered Haverford, 53-30, earlier in the
season.
