  Gene Banks (24 points, 18 rebounds) and Clarence "Eggy" Tillman (22, 14) were dominant inside while Ron "Weiner" Williams
added 14 points and Darryl Warwick and Louis Crawley split 12 assists. Kenrick's Tom Catagnus shot 12-for-14 at the line en

  Gene Banks (24) and Clarence “Eggy” Tillman (20) triggered the blowout and Darryl “City Lights” Warwick had 15 points, 10 assists. Keith Hunter (14) topped Olney.
Dobbins 80, Gratz 64
  Starters Leroy Choice (23), Ray Young (18), Juan Rodriguez (16), Robert Ruffin (12) and Jerome “J.P.” Peterson (11) combined for all of Dobbins’s points. Dino Gregory (21) led Gratz.
Overbrook 69, Frankford 65
  Lewis Lloyd shot 12-for-22 for 24 points and swept 18 rebounds, Michael Blackshear scored 26 points and Greg Powell grabbed 22 boards. Daryl Wilson (22) and Jeffery “Monk” Clark (17) led Frankford.
Germantown 63, Franklin 62
  Charles Murphy scored 20 points and hit two crucial free throws with 0:34 remaining. Angelo Adams’s basket with 0:04 left drew Franklin within one.

  Gene Banks shot 13-for-19 for 26 points while also totaling 15 rebounds, five assists and three blocks. Ronald Williams distributed seven assists. For Dobbins, Juan Rodriguez had 12 points, 10 rebounds.

Overbrook 89, Germantown 67
  Michael Blackshear scored 26 points, Lewis Lloyd mixed 20 points and 16 boards and sub Harold “Howie” McCutchen, in less than half the game, had 17 points, seven assists. G-town’s Eddie Wright had 12 points, 14 rebounds.

Junior Gene Banks (23 points, 22 rebounds) and sophomore Clarence "Eggy" Tillman (26, 20) dominated inside and junior Darryl "City Lights" Warwick had 20 points and five assists. Junior Lewis Lloyd was Overbrook's best with 18 points and 17 rebounds. Robert Carter had 23 points.

Lawrence Reid shot 11-for-15 en route to 27 points and dished six assists. Ed ‘‘Machine Gun’’ Callan added 16 points and six assists and Joe Macready grabbed 12 rebounds. No one scored in double figures for Judge.

The Knights trailed by 11 points with 6:17 left and then erupted for 24 points as guards Tom Catagnus (16) and Robert ‘‘Butch’’ Bontempo (10) combined for 20. Paul Mulholland had 14 points, 12 rebounds. La Salle was led by Matt Mihalich (17), who missed a last shot.

Bill ‘‘Bam’’ McDevitt scored the only field goal of the second OT with 1:13 left and Mike Davis mixed 13 points and 14 rebounds. Michael Brooks, the leading scorer in CL history (27.3 average), was held to 10 points. Carroll’s Hugh McFadden had 23 points, 10 boards.
Roman 44, Neumann 42
 
Steve Compton and soph Reggie Jackson scored 14 points apiece and Mike Morrow won it by hitting a 12-foot jumper from the right of the lane with 0:04 left. Paul Brightman (13), Bob Fleming (12) and John Smith (10) led Neumann.

The Knights shot 22-for-37 and 19-for-20 to pull the upset as Tom Catagnus (18), Robert ‘‘Butch’’ Bontempo (15), Phil Eisenmann (14) and Paul Mulholland (10) scored in double digits. Eisenmann held star Lawrence Reid to eight points.
West 46, Roman 43
 
Michael Brooks had 21 points and 10 rebounds and fellow frontcourter Ed Downs dished six assists. Reggie Jackson had 21 points and eight boards for Roman, which stalled for 2:19 in the second quarter and 3:25 in the third.

Paul Mulholland shot 9-for-14 for 21 points, Tom Catagnus (17) and Robert "Butch" Bontempo (11) also scored in double figures and Phil Eisenmann scored two consecutive baskets for a 54-48 lead as Kenrick became the fourth suburban team to win the championship, joining Bonner in 1960, La Salle in '63 and O'Hara in '68. Michael Brooks (22, 12 rebounds) and Mike Davis (14, 11) led West.

  The clincher came in Game No. 9, a 49-48 win over visiting Haverford, the runner-up at 8-2, in triple overtime. Gordy Bryan (20) was the only Friar in double figures and his tap-in with 0:11 left made the difference. Mike Edelman, son of coach Ray Edelman, scored 16 points for Haverford and made a tying basket at the end of the first extra session. Mike Mayock (12) scored to force the third OT. When Malvern defeated Gtn. Academy in its finale, it completed a four-year run of 39-1 in league play.
