  Burnicee Butler had 28 points and 13 rebounds for Washington, which shot 10-for-13 and 12-for-13 in a 34-point fourth quarter that erased a 46-38 deficit.

  Rasiheed “Noot” Arnold shot 16-for-24 and 4-for-8 for 37 points while Michael Robinson (11, 13 rebounds), Joe Brown (nine, 11) and Eric Coleman (nine, 10) helped. For E&S, Paul Kennedy had 12 points, five assists.

  Spencer Poulson scored 25 points on 8-for-12, 6-for-8 shooting while Alonzo Triplin collected 18 points and 13 rebounds. Karim Mullins (18) led Mansion.
King 63, Frankford 59
  Lormont Sharp bagged 27 points while Abdul Collier (15, 11 rebounds, tie-breaking layup with 0:13 left) and Lamar LeGree (nine, 15) helped inside as the Cougars stormed back from a 35-23 halftime deficit. Frankford’s leader was soph Petrick Sanders (12, 12 boards).
Overbrook 42, Dobbins 32
  Eric Williams scored 13 points in the slow-paced affair.
Franklin 83, Edison 67
  Victor Duppins had 15 points and 11 rebounds, Artise McClay scored 14 points and Rasheed “Pop” Moss had five steals. Edison’s Terrance Walker set a PL postseason record with six threes en route to 33 points.
Univ. City 88, Germantown 35
  Rasheed Brokenborough collected 19 points, nine rebounds, five assists and five steals. Tariek Stinson added 13 points, eight rebounds. Spencer Whetts (11) led G-town.
Bok 75, Audenried 63
  Fred Warrick had 25 points, 12 rebounds and five assists. Terrance “Tex” Mack added 21 points, 11 boards.

Gratz 69, King 55
  Shawn “Reds” Smith managed 11 points, nine rebounds, six assists and six steals, Terrell Stokes shot 8-for-9 for 16 points and Lynard Stewart added 14 points, 11 boards. Lormont Sharp (22) led King.
Franklin LC 68, Bok 59
  Rasiheed “Noot” Arnold shot 16-for-23 and 2-for-4 for 35 points while Joe Brown added 16 points and 13 rebounds. Fred Warrick (25, 10 boards) and Terrance “Tex” Mack (15, 14) led Bok.
Overbrook 68, Franklin 57
  Andre Howard contributed 24 points and 12 rebounds for ’Brook, which coasted after winning the first quarter, 21-2. Damon Pannell added 13 boards. Far’d Nasir (13) topped Franklin.
Univ. City 70, Olney 54
  Rasheed Brokenborough hustled for 29 points and 15 rebounds and sub Larry Strand had 11 boards. Olney’s Spencer Poulson had 22 points, four assists.

Doubleheader at the Civic Center
Gratz 53, Overbrook 28
  Lynard Stewart shot 8-for-10 and 5-for-8 for 21 points and Shawn “Reds” Smith dished seven assists. As the third quarter ended, wing shooter Michael Blunt suffered a dislocated right (shooting) shoulder. Andre Howard (15) led ’Brook.
Franklin LC 65, Univ. City 58
  Rasiheed “Noot” Arnold bagged 27 points and eight rebounds while Joe Brown added 13 points, 12 boards and five blocks. Rasheed Brokenborough (20, 12 boards) and Tariek Stinson (17, 13) led UC, which shot 1-for-25 on threes.

In the most amazing finish in PL playoff history, Michael Robinson (13 points) fumbled the ball, then ducked under the upraised arms of a defender and swished a 30-foot three-pointer with 1 second left to win it. It was the first time since 1968 that a championship was won on a last-second shot and the lead was FLC's first of the game. Rasiheed "Noot" Arnold poured in 34 points before fouling out. Lynard Stewart and Terrell Stokes scored 12 points each for Gratz.
  Note: The school district later found that FLC had used ineligible players during the season. The district stripped FLC of the title and awarded it to Gratz.

  Leon Williams posted 11 points, 10 rebounds and three blocks and grabbed the final board after O’Hara’s John Gallagher missed a three. Rashid Bey had 19 points, 10 rebounds, four assists. Andrew Gosseaux (16) led O’Hara.
North Semifinals
Judge 60, La Salle 50
 
Sean Tait (15), Matt Henrich (14) and Frank Sykes (11) led in scoring and Henrich had seven rebounds. Tim Erb (12) led La Salle.
North 78, Conwell-Egan 65
 
Chris Heck shot 7-for-11 and 4-for-4 for 20 points while Dennis Comey (18, 10-for-10 at line), Kevin McGarry (15) and Brian Logan (14) also scored well. Comey and McGarry split 10 assists. Shaun Profy (16) paced Conwell-Egan, which was making its first playoff appearance since reaching the league final in 1964, its first CL season.
South Semifinals
Carroll 41, West 39
 
Six-eleven junior Rafal Bigus notched 10 points and 12 rebounds and hit an inside shot with 0:08 left to provide a 40-39 lead. Paul Romanczuk (13, eight rebounds) and Kevin Leighton (12) helped. Mike Randle (12) paced West.
Roman 67, Neumann 56
 
At North, Donnie Carr bagged 22 points, Eugene Small mixed 10 points and 14 rebounds and Lari Ketner swept 17 rebounds. Neumann’s Rashid Bey had 17 points, eight rebounds, six assists and four steals.

Doubleheader at the Palestra
North 69, Judge 55
  Bill Labb shot 6-for-7 and 4-for-4 for a season-high 17 points as the surprising Falcons advanced to 17-10 with their ninth consecutive win. Chris Heck (19) and Dennis Comey (11 assists, four steals) also starred. Twenty of North’s 24 field goals were assisted. Judge (Ed Brun 11) shot 3-for-29 on threes.
Roman 56, Carroll 49
 
Days after winning the state indoor championship in the triple jump (45-11), sub Will McKnight shot 6-for-8 and 2-for-2 for a season-high 15 points in 20 minutes as Roman broke the CL and city records for consecutive playoff victories. Roman upped its total to 17. West Philadelphia won 16 in succession from 1974 to ‘79. Eugene Small added 16 points and 11 rebounds and put the Cahillites for good, 46-44, with a left-baseline jumper on a pass from R.C. Kehoe. For Carroll, Mike Dzik scored 16 points and Brian Dunn dealt seven assists.

Roman 60, North 53
 
Lari Ketner produced 20 points, 10 rebounds and six blocks, sub Will McKnight added 16 points and R.C. Kehoe hustled for nine assists and six steals as the Cahillites won yet again. The teams combined for 48 turnovers. North's Chris Heck hit four threes en route to 23 points while guard Dennis Comey added 10 points and 14 rebounds.

  The tie was created on the final day as CH bested visiting PC, 51-49, when Matt Paul drained three free throws with 0:06 left after being fouled on an off-balance three. Paul had 15 points, and six assists. Mike Gizzi (15) and Paul Sablich (12) helped. PC’s Steve Goodrich had 17 points, eight rebounds. CH scored 18 of the first 19 points. PC later reeled off 20 in a row. Haverford could have forged a triple tie, but lost to Malvern, 72-64.
