   PHILADELPHIA, PA (August 9, 2007) — CN8, The Comcast Network sprints into the end zone this fall with a first-of-its-kind initiative, “Varsity GameNight,” showcasing 14 LIVE Pennsylvania, New Jersey and Delaware high school football match-ups on Saturdays throughout the season.  Local fans can catch CN8’s exclusive high school coverage live on-air, online at www.CN8.tv and Comcast Digital Cable customers may watch the games ON DEMAND at no charge for up to one week following the broadcast.

  CN8’s high school season kicks off Saturday, September 8 at 7:00 p.m. as one of last year’s top-ranked teams in the country, Don Bosco Prep, takes on Catholic League powerhouse, St. Joe’s Prep. The season culminates with live coverage of the PIAA AAAA State Championship game on Saturday, December 15.

   “Similar to the NFL’s strategy in developing Monday Night Football, we’ve worked closely with area high schools to create a special live weekly television event that showcases some of the best high school football match-ups in the region,” said Jon Gurevitch, vice president, CN8 sports.  “Our unparalleled commitment to broadcasting high school sports is further enhanced by offering fans the opportunity to watch the action three ways – live on-air, on our website and ON DEMAND after the broadcast.”

  Top games featured on CN8’s “Varsity GameNight” include a rematch of the 2006 Public League championship game on October 6 when the Frankford Pioneers take on the Washington Eagles.  On October 27, two of South Jersey’s top teams compete when the Washington Township Minutemen host the Cherokee Chiefs.  Delaware football steals the spotlight on November 10 when St. Mark’s goes up against Salesianum.
