DIVISION A
SEMIFINALS
Doubleheader at Gratz
Comm. Tech 46, Prep Charter 0: Kyle Tubbs (10-140, three TDs) and Stacey Hill (6-84, two) ran wild and Ackeeno Jolly snagged a 56-yard scoring pass from Adefumi Garrett. William Dennis added the final TD on an 18-yard fumble return while Akeem Robinson had an interception. PC's Shelton Jones passed 4-for-7 for 85 yards.
Delaware Valley 24, Future 0: Markeese Walker (14-119) and Neil Warren (11-95) ran for one score apiece while Ronald McBeth caught an 85-yard TD pass from Jibri Monk. The Warriors' first score came on a play from the 2. Amir Bandy-May got the first yard, then was being stood up. Walker took the ball from his hands and powered over the goal line. Bandy-May later tallied his own TD. McBeth and Tavon Holloway had interceptions. For Future, which did not yet have a senior class, Amir Martin passed 4-for-14 for 57 yards.
FINAL
At Southern
Comm. Tech 26, Del-Val Charter 0: Stacey Hill (25-173) ran for two TDs while Kyle Tubbs rushed well (13-57) and recorded two interceptions. Aasin-Rogin Nickson opened the scoring by recovering a fumble in the end zone. Ameer Selden managed 15 tackles for Del-Val.

AA DIVISION
SEMIFINALS
At Germantown
Franklin 22, Imhotep 6: It was a day of season firsts for the Electrons. Robert Ingram broke into the scoring column with 16 points,  rushing 13 times for 75 yards and two TDs (plus two conversions). Jeffery Neal, Clarence Cohen and Jamel "Redz" Haggins all joined the interception column for the initial time. Haggins added a TD catch from Anthony Stones. Marquis White rushed 20 times for 112 yards before departing with an ankle injury. Imhotep's Christopher Lewis passed 8-for-18 for 162 yards and a score to Kendrick Lewis (2-73).
At Southern
Bok 44, Furness 8: Soph Andre Frazier, who became the QB in Week Four after the original starter transferred to Bartram, provided early momentum with TD tosses to Troy Martin and Gary Jackson. Manny Gregory, Kevin Bryan, Jackson and Chase Dykes added rushing scores. Furness notched the game's final score on John Johnson's 91-yard kickoff return. The volume on the PA system was lowered after a woman came storming across Bigler Street from her house to complain that she couldn't hear an "Everybody Loves Raymond" rerun.
FINAL
At Southern
Bok 32, Franklin 12: Andre Frazier accounted for the game's first three TDs, sandwiching two shorties around a 26-yard pass to Troy Martin. Ray Tucker added 138 yards and two scores on 15 carries and Brahkim Poole made two picks, raising his career total to 16. Chris Sherrod, Kevin Bryan and Gary Jackson recovered fumbles to set up TDs; Jasaan Thomas did likewise by blocking a punt. For Franklin, which played without star rusher Marquis White (broken foot), Shuron Briggs carried 22 times for 109 yards and one TD.

AAA DIVISION
SEMIFINALS
Doubleheader at Gratz
Mastbaum 28, Roxborough 13: With his team, the No. 4 seed, holding a 14-13 lead, Darren Berry clinched the win over the division champ by returning interceptions for TDs of 70 and 21 yards. He was the second player in city postseason history to accomplish that feat. Rasheen Tookes ran 19 times for 140 yards and two scores. For Roxborough, Akmed Greene carried 30 times for 171 yards while Antonio Murrell ran for one score and passed for another.
Dobbins 26, Penn 6: The Mustangs avenged a regular season defeat as Ralston Thomas turned 17 rushes into 131 yards and two TDs. Slotback Jamaine "Pops" Leslie whipped a 39-yard scoring pass to Jamil Williams. Joseph Bangura had an interception. For Penn, Braheim Dixon ran 8 yards for the game's first TD and passed 5-for-12 for 79 yards, mostly to Emmanuel Pittman (2-60).
FINAL

At Northeast
Dobbins 33, Mastbaum 6: Terrell "Mouse" Barringer returned the opening kickoff for a 71-yard score, then added two TDs on QB keepers. Ralston Thomas (8-62) and Derek Clark (9-45) helped with the rushing while Joshua Bangura and Jamaine "Pops" Leslie picked off passes and the former turned his into a 63-yard score. For Mastbaum, Rasheen Tookes carried 19 times for 120 yards and Greg Desire hit Jamil Thomas with a 2-yard TD pass.

AAAA DIVISION
QUARTERFINALS
Overbrook 33, Central 22: This one featured perhaps the strangest circumstance in city grid history. Central, the last-place team in AAAA Red, entered the playoffs with an 0-4 record (and 0-6 overall). Overbrook's David McCants turned a right-side jet sweep into a 73-yard TD on the game's first play, and shortly thereafter caught a 16-yard scoring pass from Rasheed Oberton (5-for-9, 86; also a TD toss to John Melvin). For Central, Michael Anhalt rushed 22 times for 134 yards while Devonne Boler passed 12-for-24 for 146 yards and TDs to Tony Rosa and frosh Richard Drayton. Members of the coaching staffs jawed afterward over Overbrook's last TD, scored on Keenan Clark's 41-yard run when kneeldowns were expected.
Northeast 26, Bartram 20: James "Big Country" Rosseau rushed 22 times for 161 yards and two TDs. With Northeast down, 14-7, Tim Freiling provided momentum by sandwiching field goals of 33 and 43 yards around a successful onside kick; HE made the recovery. Malik Stokes threw a TD pass to his big brother, Tennessee commit Je'Ron. For Bartram, Laquan Williams threw 4-for-9 for 110 yards and two scores to Yusuf Bangura.
Frankford 28, Germantown 6: Kalif Walker's two scores sandwiched a pair by Hakeem Watson. Walker ran 15 times for 102 yards and a 27-yard score and caught a 37-yard TD pass from Michael McGroarty. Watson turned six rushes into 114 yards and TDs of 94 and 6 yards. The long one immediately followed a fourth-down incompletion after Germantown used 10:12 to drive 72 yards to Frankford's, only to be thwarted by a procedure penalty and a fourth-down incompletion. Robert Fitzhugh scored for G-town on an 86-yard kickoff return. He also had an interception.
Washington 39, Univ. City 0: Kesson Christopher posted 71 yards and two TDs on 10 carries and collected a third score on a pass from Aaron Wilmer (6-for-13, 131). The Eagles' final TD came on a 60-yard pass from Wilmer to Joe Clayborne, who played for UC as this season began. Chea Sloh had 14 rushes for 91 yards. For UC, Tariq "Pop Tart" Gordon carried 18 times for 89 yards and Michael Adens passed 10-for-25 for 113, almost all to Gordon (5-52) and Robert McDaniel (4-55).
SEMIFINALS

Doubleheader at Northeast
Washington 38, Overbrook 0: Aaron Wilmer passed 9-for-15 for 129 yards and three TDs to soph Joe Clayborne while Kyle Glenn ran for scores of 14 and 50 yards. Overbrook's David McCants lost a 77-yard rushing TD to a holding call.
Northeast 3, Frankford 0: Tim Freiling powered a 26-yard field goal, the 11th of his career, through the uprights with 44 seconds remaining as the No. 3 seed pulled off the upset over No. 2 Frankford. The drive began on Frankford's 47 with 5:26 left.
Malik Stokes completed a pair of short passes. James Rosseau and Tyleel Taylor did the running. A facemask penalty provided a large early boost and an offside penalty on fourth-and-inches placed the ball at 4.
FINAL
At Northeast
Washington 41, Northeast 34 (3 OTs): In a classic and then some, Washington gave coach Ron Cohen his 10th PL title (tying Al Angelo's record) by picking off a pass late in regulation (frosh Nate Smith did the honors) and then getting TDs on all three of its OT possessions. James Fowler posted TD catches on the Eagles' first two thrusts; the second came on fourth down in the front left corner of the end zone. QB Aaron Wilmer (9-for-16, three TDs) then succeeded on a 1-yard sneak in the third extra session and Lorenzo Adams intercepted a pass from Malik Stokes (22-for-42, 243, three TDs) to his Tennessee-bound brother, Je'Ron (9-86). The Vikings' Steve Pinckney added eight catches for 65 yards and a score while Tim Freiling boomed field goals of 45 and 44 yards. Smith's hit caused a fumble that Washington's Waverly Harris returned for the game's first TD. This was only the second OT title game in city history. Ryan topped Carroll, 20-13, for CL honors in 1990.

Judge 30, O'Hara 14

Curt Wortham rushed 26 times for a school record of 294 yards and four TDs. The eclipsed
effort -- 272 by Jerry Magallanes in '82 -- had also come in a playoff game. Kevin Toner claimed
an interception. For O'Hara, Tom Savage passed 17-for-32 for 201 yards and a TD to Anthony
McCloskey.
At Plymouth-Whitemarsh
La Salle 31, SJ Prep 28
In the CL opener, the Explorers had halted Prep's regular season winning streak at 55 games.
They proved that win was no fluke in this one as Drew Loughery obliterated the city record
for passing yards in postseason action. He went 21-for-34 for 378 yards and four TDs;
Dobbins' Andre Davis had 306 in '97. It was also the No. 3 total overall behind 409 by Central's
Mike Roche in '86 and 379 by Dougherty's Sean McGovern in 2000. Jamal Abdur-Rahman
made four catches for 112 yards and two TDs. Sam Feleccia (5-119) and Mike Donohoe (4-61)
caught one TD toss apiece. Ultimately, the difference was Mike Bennett's 37-yard field goal 6.5
seconds prior to halftime. For Prep, Mark Giubilato passed 6-for-15 for 187 yards and a score
to Anthony Johnson (4-137) while Garrett Compton (24-116), Mike Yeager (15-87) and
Giubilato posted rushing TDs.
Final
At Northeast
La Salle 28, Judge 20
Mayfair resident Mike Donohoe, a first cousin of one Judge starter, best friend of another
and buddies with roughly half of the prominent Crusaders, caught a pair of 12-yard TDs passes
from Drew Loughery (12-for-19, 114, three TDs) and hit the latter with a trick-play conversion
pass as the Explorers avenged a regular season defeat. Sam Feleccia made four catches for 63
yards and a score, Mike Bennett kicked two field goals and Kevin Forster posted a pick.
Loughery's conversion catch made it 21-14 and that became huge when Judge missed the PAT
after a 28-yard TD pass from soph Tony Smith (8-for-17, 119) to Tom Ryan (5-72) with 6:45
left. Donohoe notched his second TD at 1:42. Smith suffered an injury on Judge's last drive,
forcing star receiver Adam Nowak to assume command of the offense. His last pass was knocked
down by . . . you guessed it, Donohoe (also a linebacker/punter). Judge's Curt Wortham ran 29
times for 104 yards. This was coach Drew Gordon's eighth year with the program, over two
stints, and his fourth title (first two as offensive coordinator).

At Wissahickon
Wood 27, Lansdale Catholic 0

Sean Cunningham churned for 201 yards and two TDs, among them a 76-yarder, on 24
carries and helped the defense achieve a school record with a fifth consecutive shutout. Sean
McCartney added an interception and a QB sneak for a score. For LC, a first-year CL member,
QB John Howell ran nine times for 52 yards.
At Plymouth-Whitemarsh
Conwell-Egan 17, N. Catholic 14
Matt Della-Croce rebounded quite handsomely after a disastrous first two series -- intentional
grounding in the end zone (safety) and an interception. He finished 16-for-31 for 248 yards,
raising his career total to 3,001, and one TD, a game-winner to Ryan Golin (10-136). For
North, Dennis Logue passed 10-for-17 for 157 yards and two TDs to Mike Scott (6-125).

Wood 44, Conwell-Egan 14
The Vikings, which had posted a school-record five consecutive shutouts, received an
immediate jolt as Kerry McAnany returned the opening kickoff 82 yards for a TD. Then they
rolled to 44 consecutive points behind the rushing of Sean Cunningham (30-210, TD) and Nick
Devine (7-58, three) and running/passing of Sean McCartney (203 combined yards). Steve
Devlin became the third Wood to coach to win a title in a six-year period, joining Art Barrett in
'03 and Joe Powel in '04-'05. Scott Adkins and Shane Miller posted interceptions and Adkins
recovered an onside kick right before halftime; James McFadden followed with a 37-yard field
goal. For C-E, Matt Della-Croce hit Ryan Golin with a 12-yard TD pass.

AA Division

W. Catholic 63, Kennedy-Kenrick 21
Rob Hollomon turned his first four carries into TDs of 36, 35, 59 and 12 yards and finished
with six scores and 212 yards on just nine opportunities. Hollomon smashed the city postseason
records for rushing TDs (four) and total points (32). He also had an interception. Curtis Drake
accounted for two TDs, rushing 16 yards for one and passing 57 yards to Eric Young for
another. West rang up 56 points in the first 16 minutes, 33 seconds, and its 35 plays generated
458 yards (13.1 average). Tim Carroll went 9-for-9 on PATs, breaking the postseason mark
of seven. With the score at 63-14 in the THIRD quarter, backup QB Kyle Heggs was instructed
to take a knee on four straight plays at K-K's 15. For the Wolverines, Ryan Sejda ran for one
score and passed for another.
At Plymouth-Whitemarsh
Carroll 17, McDevitt 7

Chris Kennedy's seven tackles behind the line included three sacks while Luke Wischnowski
accounted for 133 yards of rushing/passing and hit Pat Seeds with a 22-yard scoring pass.
McDevitt did little offensively, but did post a score on the first series of the third quarter as
Luke Sawick hit Steve Harris with a 4-yard, left-corner fade.
Final
At Plymouth-Whitemarsh
West Catholic 56, Carroll 7
Rob Hollomon roared to four scores and 156 yards on just five carries and scored a fifth TD,
his first of the night, on a 65-yard punt return. That gave him 11 TDs in the Burrs' two playoff
appearances. Curtis Drake added 240 yards, passing 3-for-4 for 98 yards and a TD to Haleem
"P-Nut" Hayward and rushing four times for 142 yards and one score. Carroll scored last on
Luke Wischnowski's 61-yard pass to Chris Kennedy.
