  On March 7, 2013, the School District finalized plans to close Communications Tech in June. The Phoenix played its final game on Nov. 16, falling at Bristol, 27-24, in a District 1-12 Class A subregional final. (It then received a 2-0 forfeit victory over Olney on Thanksgiving.) Below are some items concerning the program itself and assorted lasts.

  Comm Tech played seven years of Public League football. The Phoenix joined
the Public League in 2006 and remained there through 2012. They won the
league's Class A championship in 2008.

  Stacey Hill (25-173) ran for two TDs while Kyle Tubbs rushed well (13-57) and
recorded two interceptions. Aasin-Rogin Nickson opened the scoring by recovering
a fumble in the end zone. Ameer Selden managed 15 tackles for Del-Val.

Special note . . .

  On 11/7/08 at Southern, CT bested Bristol, 18-14, to
become the first Pub team in five years of PIAA
membership to win a state FB playoff!! Stacey Hill
ran for one score and passed for two to Kyle Tubbs.
This game was a District 1-12 subregional semi. The
Phoenix then defeated Jenkintown, 22-10, but fell
to Schuylkill Haven, 43-0.
