Kennedy-Kenrick OF Chris Lubanski was selected in the first round (No. 5 overall)
by Kansas City in the 2003 amateur baseball draft.
Here is a link to an interview Chris did with Perfect Game USA's Patrick Ebert in
late February in preparation for the 2005 season. We hope you find it interesting.
Chris is currently playing for the High Desert Mavericks, KC's team in the high
Class A California League.
Below are pictures from the day of Chris' final game with the Wolverines, a 12-4

loss to Roman on May 20.
   ***UPDATE***
As the Mavericks closed out the first half of the 2005 season, Chris was leading
the team in home runs and RBIs, and had raised his batting average 90 points since
the beginning of May.  In 62 games played, Chris had slugged 16 home runs and
knocked in 52 runs; his home run total had already surpassed the number he hit all
of last season (9), and he was tied for 3rd in the California League in home runs,
and tied for 6th in RBIs.  The youngest outfielder in the league at age 20, Chris had
also belted 15 doubles and two triples, scored 40 runs, and was 6-for-6 in stolen bases.
