DEC. 20
NON-LEAGUE
Judge 67, King 34
This game was a close one at the end of the 1st, then Judge just ran away
with it. In the 1st quarter it was a two man show with only soph. Steve
Griffin and sr. Joe Kehoe. Griffin came out strong with 9pts,
including a 3-ball, an and-one (basket and foul shot), basket, and free
throw. Kehoe would add 2 of his traditional three pointers to put Judge up
15-10. In the 2nd quarter, Judge would outscore MLK, 24-3, and start to wrap
the game up. The reason for the high scoring quarter was the contribution
from a bunch of players, especially sr. Seamus Radtke (6 points).
Griffin would add 5 points and Kehoe would add another traditional 3 ball.
Sr. Brett Zanneo would also add 5 points, including a 3 ball. Also
sr. Reggie Charles would add 2 points and jr. Brian Hennessey
would also add a 3 ball coming off the bench to give Judge a 39-13 halftime
lead. In the 3rd, sr. Nick Sullivan would 8 points including a 3
ball. Radtke added 2 to his total, Griffin added another 5 points to his
valiant performance. Charles would also add a 3 ball to his total. At the
end of the 3rd Judge would be up 57-21. In the 4th Coach Sean Tait
would go to the bench to help get some rest for the starters. Coming off the
bench, sr. Zach Hirst would put up 7 points and jr. Connor Donohoe
would add a free throw. But the biggest hype coming off the bench was for
sr. Mike Burke. Every time he would shoot, the bench would jump up
and yell “Burke!!” Then finally he got his stardom when he made a basket and
got the foul but missed the FT. At the final horn Judge would win 67-34.
Keys To The Game:
1. Steve Griffin having his highest scoring game of the season so far
definitely helped the Crusaders. 2. The teamwork work and
effectiveness of the play calling also helped. 3. Burke got his first
basket of his senior year.
