Bud Elsesser added 17 points and Jim Edwards mixed 15 points with
16 rebounds. Ron Newman (16) led Dougherty.

North 70, Judge 53
Dennis Boylan scored 22 points, including 18 (14 in a row) in a 28-27 first
half. Barry Brodzinski added 15 points. Joe Bud Elsesser and
George McConnell split 26 points for Judge and Jim Edwards added 12.
Ryan 62, La Salle 48
Mike Cataline (18) and Joe Venuti (16) led in scoring and Rich McGuire mixed 10
points and 17 rebounds as the Raiders tasted success in their first playoff appearance.
Steve Javie (14) led La Salle as Rick Hogan was held in check (nine) by Rich Fee.
South Semifinals
Doubleheader at the Palestra
ST More 48, OHara 42
Carl Kenty (20) and Ron Holmes (11) scored in double figures as the Bears
prevailed. Mike Arizin (21) led OHara.
Bonner 39, Roman 37
Jim Beef Brophy shot 9-for-17 for 19 points and drained
a left-corner jumper at 0:01 to win it. Ed Shot Stefanskis
steal set up the winning possession. Sub Mike Rush added eight points. Romans Jim
Chico Singleton scored 20 points.
Semifinals
Doubleheader at the Palestra
North 66, Ryan 65
Doug Romanczuk generated 17 points and as many rebounds and Barry Brodzinski
scored 17 points. The Falcons led, 60-53, before Ryan drew close behind Mike Cataline (15)
and Larry Gruber (13).
ST More 62, Bonner 59 (2 ot)
The Golden Bears scored all 12 of their OT points from the line and Emery
Sammons (18) hit a clinching one-and-one with 0:14 left. Ron Holmes scored 19 points. Ed
Shot Stefanski scored 16 points for Bonner, which owned a 46-40
lead with 3:09 left in regulation.

Carl Kenty collected 13 points, 19 rebounds and eight blocks as Tommy More made
Eddie Burke the first coach in CL history to win back-to-back championships at different
schools. Emery Sammons scored 16 points and Larry Sanders grabbed 13 rebounds. Barry
Brodzinski (11) and Mike Kernan (10) paced North, whose fans pelted the court with four
stink bombs during the game and with empty beer cans as the Golden Bears celebrated.
