At Widener

O'Hara 31, Bonner 20: Jay Watkins collected 112 yards of rushing/receiving and scored once in each manner. Ryan Laughlin passed 14-for-23 for 146 yards and Brendan McLaughlin ran for two scores. For Bonner, Sean Quarterman ran for two short TDs and passed 6-for-9 for 85 yards.

Wood 24, O'Hara 7: The night ended poorly for Desmon Peoples, as he suffered a broken foot with 2:49 left. Beforehand? He owned it, witness his 29 carries for 173 yards and three TDs (long of 47). Nick Visco hit three PAT and a 35-yard field goal. Ends Colin Thompson and Brian Butler and tackles Rory Clark and Frank Taylor
were dominant while turning O'Hara's running game into a rumor (20 attempts, minus-12 yards). Ryan Laughlin passed 9-for-17 for 160 yards and a 65-yard score to Drew Formica. This was Wood's third consecutive title and sixth in eight years. Two weeks earlier, in the regular season finale, the Vikings had outlasted O'Hara, 48-34.

SEMIFINALS
At Truman
La Salle 34, Judge 7: Mike Piscopo got the Explorers rolling with a 31-yard score on an interception return and that was their shortest six-pointer. QB Kevin Forster, filling in for Matt Magarity (concussion), uncorked TD dashes of 52 and 46 yards, then Sean Coleman (64 punt) and Jamal Abdur-Rahman (50 run) dialed up scores from long distance. Forster added one interception and three breakups.
Judge avoided a blanking on Nick Myers' late, 1-yard run. Tim Mills made four catches for 69 yards and notched 74 yards on six returns.
At Truman
Roman 27, SJ Prep 19: The Cahillites exploded for 27 points in the second quarter. Corey Bronson and Anthony Johnson scored on interception returns. Johnson (3-95) also tallied on a pass from Michael Keir (7-for-11, 134) while Marcus Kelly produced 174 yards and a TD on 31 carries. The Prep's Skyler Mornhinweg passed 12-for-32 for two TDs and 275 yards, primarily to Paul McGann (4-126, TD).

La Salle 35, Roman 16: The Explorers roared to the final 28 points while claiming their third consecutive crown and fourth in five years. The start did not go well: Anthony Johnson dropped Tim Wade for a safety. Soon, Matt Magarity, after missing the last three games with a concussion, was turning his first pass into a 60-yard completion to Sean Coleman and Roman was losing star wideout William Fuller (3-61), a sophomore, to a broken collarbone. Jamal Abdur-Rahman turned 28 carries into 168 yards and three TDs while Coleman (on a backward pass) and Magarity also ran for scores. Casey Eidenshink, moved up the depth chart one day earlier after Ryan Winslow was diagnosed with pneumonia, went 5-for-5 on PAT. Kevin Forster (two; added punting duties) and Abdur-Rahman had interceptions. Marcus Kelly (run, 25-96) and Jack Gallagher (fumble return) posted Roman's TDs.

West Catholic 34, Bok 6: Bok coach Tom DeFelice, in the last game of his 18-year stint, created nervous feelings for his alma mater in a 6-6 first half. But the Burrs then rolled, scoring four TDs in an 8-minute, 9-second span. David Williams turned eight carries into 52 yards and three TDs (two in the spurt) while Brandon Hollomon's 15-carry, 162-yard, one-TD performance enabled West to have a 1,000-yard rusher for the 11th consecutive season. Jim Lynch, back in action after a one-game suspension (he'd incorrectly been thrown out of the CL final vs. McDevitt; there was no video to prove he'd only been acting as a peacemaker), notched eight solos and two TFLs among 12 stops while also forcing a fumble. Jaleel Reed lost a 98-yard interception return score to a penalty. Khalil Neal (21-79) and Shaquil Sammons (25-50, TD) led Bok. This game was played at 11 a.m. A 6 o'clock Friday night start was nixed by community pressure.

Wood 44, Dobbins 7: With his cousin, tailback Desmon Peoples, sidelined with a foot injury, fullback Brandon Peoples switched positions and contributed 123 yards/three TDs on 14 carries. Soph Andrew Guckin posted 79 yards and two TDs (rush/catch of three  yards apiece) on his first scrimmage touches of the season while Joey Monaghan passed 7-for-10 for 121 yards, mostly to Sam McCain (5-108; back from concussion). The Vikings roared to 37 points in just over one quarter, then Dobbins broke through (Aaron Walker's 27-yard run) against the second-team defense.

La Salle 35, Northeast 0: Strong defense, twice coupled with solid returns, assured that four of the Explorers' scoring drives would need to cover just 39 yards. Jamal Abdur-Rahman (11-69) and Kevin Forster (11-53, on direct snaps and jet sweeps) ran for two scores apiece and Tim Wade contributed one. Connor Reilly blocked a punt to set up the second TD. Mark DiFrangia made eight tackles, with five occurring at or behind the line. Abdur-Rahman soared for a pick. Northeast's best chance for a score came late against the second unit. Ryan Otis, who would have been a key player all season if not for an injury, broke up an end-zone pass intended for franchise, two-way end Deion Barnes. This was the sixth time this season that the Explorers, usually beyond pass-happy under coach Drew Gordon and his son, Brett, the offensive coordinator, posted no aerial TDs.
