CLASS AA
Quarterfinal
At Northern Lehigh
Imhotep 54, Pen Argyl 7: David Williams sped for 200 yards and
four TDs on 14 carries, pacing the Panthers to 576 yards
of total offense. The middle six TDs came on rushes. The avalanche began with a
57-yard pass play from Andre Dreuitt-Parks to Brandon Smith and concluded with
Najee Goode's 46-yard fumble return.
Semifinal
At Germantown
Wyomissing 35, Imhotep 13: Both teams entered at 14-0 and the
Panthers missed their chance to claim the city record for wins in a season.
David Williams turned 22 carries into 140 yards and a 50-yard TD while Deandre
Scott, out of a wildcat formation on fourth-and-11, raced 44 yards for a score.
The defense could force no three-and-outs. The Panthers finished the season with
a 651-108 scoring advantage.

Quarterfinal
At Ply.-Whitemarsh
Wood 35, Interboro 7: As the game began, Jarrett McClenton scooped
up a bouncing kickoff and zoomed 81 yards for a TD. Andrew Guckin then rushed 14
times for 134 yards and four TDs by halftime -- 42- and 35-yarders represented
one-play drives
-- and the final 24 minutes were played with a running clock.
Frosh Tom Garlick passed 7-for-12 for 146 yards.
Semifinal
At Bethlehem Liberty
Wood 36, Allentown CC 6: The Vikings put the mercy rule into
effect by halftime and three long TDs were part of the fun. Josh Messina (8-102)
and Jarrett McClenton rushed for matching 55-yarders and Tom Garlick hit Chris
Rahill with a 52-yard pass. Andrew Guckin added 10 carries for 141 yards and one
score.
Final
At HersheyPark Stadium
Erie Cathedral Prep 24, Wood 14: The Vikings opened the game
by storming downfield for a score -- Josh Messina's 32-yard run -- and capped
the drive with four consecutive plays that produced first downs. They appeared
headed for another TD on drive No. 2, but four penalties in five plays proved to
be a killer, the deficit increased to 24-7 by halftime and no miracles would be
forthcoming. Messina ran 17 times for 124 yards, caught four passes for 35 and
logged a team-high seven tackles. Andrew Guckin turned 30 carries into 178 yards
and one TD, his 30th of the season, and he finished five yards short of 2,000
(missed two games).

Quarterfinal
At Northeast
La Salle 28, Parkland 7: The Explorers' defense turned in an
amazing performance, using 11 sacks and six more TFLs to
sentence Parkland to 90 yards in losses. Jon Naji recorded five sacks for 24
yards. Ryan Coonahan notched two apiece of sacks
and TFLs for 22 yards. David Losier likewise racked up 22 yards, thanks to three
sacks. Chris Kane passed 9-for-19 for 167
yards and two TDs to Sean Coleman (5-120), who added eight tackles (one TFL). On
the game's final play, Dad Poquie stopped
Jarel Elder five yards short of what would have been a 79-yard TD.
Semifinal
At Downingtown West
Coatesville 42, La Salle 35: Over a 6-minute period spanning
the first and second quarters, the Explorers lost stars/spiritual leaders Sean
Coleman (WR-DB), Tom Spiteri (DT) and Mike Eife (FB-LB) to injury. Even so, they
were able to rally from a 21-point, fourth-quarter deficit before a late
turnover ended any chance. Chris Kane passed 18-for-40 for 265 yards and a TD to
Jordan Meachum while Jimmy Herron (5-95) led the receivers.
