St. Hubert Earns Cheerleading Honors

St. Hubert Rules the Rah-Rah Roost

Members of all four cheerleading squads that represent St. Hubert High.

St. Hubert High, an all-girls Catholic school at Cottman & Torresdale, competed Feb. 6-7, 2016, in Orlando, Florida, in the
National High School Cheerleading Championships. The event was televised by ESPN and ESPN2.
The Bambies' program, guided by Lisa McNesby (her husband, Chris, is the varsity basketball at Roman Catholic High),
was the only school to enter teams in all four competitions. The Bambies qualified by faring well in a regional competition
held in the fall in New Jersey. All four teams earned first-attempt bids to nationals.
The National competition is divided by school enrollment and squad size. St. Hubert competed in Medium Varsity, Large
JV, Small JV and Non-Tumbling JV. All four teams advanced to the final round. And, as in 2015, all four teams notched
Top 10 finishes.
The breakdown . . .
Varsity -- 4th out of 28 teams. (Also second in the state in recent PIAA competition, in Hershey.)
Large JV -- 1st out of 16 teams.
Small JV -- 9th out of 27 teams.
Non-Tumbling JV -- 2nd out of nine teams.
The coaches for the championship JV team were Jackie Seveland, MaryKate McKnight, Kristen Bieringer, Caitlyn
Hillman and Lauren Fong.
