Michael, who starred in basketball at West Catholic ('76) and La Salle, then played in the NBA, passed away following an unsuccessful bone marrow transplant. Most recently, he'd been coaching in Switzerland and was featured in two stories by Mike Sielski. RIP, Michael.

  Tonight at 10 p.m., the season finale of Varsity Voice will air on The Comcast Network. The show will take a look into the daily life -- from classrooms to lacrosse -- of Germantown Academy seniors Jimmy McAfee and Betsy Prezioso.
  Delaware County's Hero Bowl, an all-star football game for high school seniors, will be played tomorrow night, 7:30, at O'Hara. Players from Haverford School, Episcopal, Bonner-Prendie, Carroll and O'Hara will be involved. The proceeds provide scholarship aid for children of deceased police, firefighters and EMTs.

  Olney, thanks to a 4-1 win over Frankford for overall Pub honors, will be Judge's opponent in tomorrow's Class AAAA City Title. This is the  Trojans' first championship in one of the three majors sports since 1969 (also baseball). It has never won a crown in football/basketball. It entered the Pub in the 1931-32 school year.

  Yesterday in Hanau, Germany, Team Stars & Stripes, steered by former Penn Charter/Episcopal coach Bill Gallagher and powered in part by Philly guys, bested a team of Hanau high school all-stars, 36-0. Click here for a recap.
  A note from Frog . . . Ace played in the ASLC Media prelim today. He had three points (1-for-4 from deep), four rebounds, three assists and one steal.
